| Obverse description | The Arms of Singapore occupy the central field, featuring a shield charged with a crescent moon and five five-pointed stars, supported on the dexter by a lion and on the sinister by a tiger, both rampant, atop a compartment with a scroll bearing the national motto MAJULAH SINGAPURA in Latin script. The date 1990 appears in the lower field beneath the arms. The country name is rendered in four scripts arching around the periphery: SINGAPURA at the top in Latin, 新加坡 in Chinese characters to the upper right, சிங்கப்பூர் in Tamil script to the left, and SINGAPORE along the lower border in Latin. |
