Obverse description The obverse features the Arms of Singapore centrally displayed, comprising a shield charged with a crescent moon and five five-pointed stars, supported by a lion rampant to the left and a tiger rampant to the right, with a ribbon below bearing the national motto MAJULAH SINGAPURA in Latin script. The country name appears in four official languages: SINGAPURA in Latin script along the upper border, சிங்கப்பூர் in Tamil script to the left field, 新加坡 in Chinese characters to the right field, and SINGAPORE in Latin script along the lower border. The date 1994 is inscribed below the shield. The design is rendered in a crisp, medallic style against a smooth field.
