Obverse description The official seal of the Republic of the Marshall Islands occupies the central field, depicting a traditional Marshallese stick chart (rebbelib) in the lower portion, with a frigate bird in flight above, a radiant sun, a sailing outrigger canoe, and palm-covered islands in the background. The design is framed by a decorative rope-chain border around the entire circumference. The curved legend REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS arcs along the upper border, while the denomination $10 appears to the left and the date 1998 to the right. The Marshallese national motto JEPILPILIN KE EJUKAAN curves along the lower border above the word SEAL on a banner at the base of the central design.

Reverse description A detailed high-relief depiction of the Imperial Japanese Navy battleship Yamato underway at sea occupies the majority of the field, rendered in a three-quarter aerial perspective showing the vessel's massive superstructure, triple gun turrets, and bow wave in finely engraved detail. Aircraft are visible in the upper field above the ship. The legend YAMATO arcs along the upper border in bold incuse lettering. The denomination 10 DOLLARS is inscribed in two lines to the right of center in the field.
