Obverse description The obverse features the national coat of arms of Liberia at center, depicting a sailing ship at sea with a palm tree and a rising sun on the shoreline, all enclosed within a heraldic shield supported by two doves. A scroll beneath the shield bears the legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA. The motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE appears on a ribbon arching across the upper portion of the arms. The outer legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA curves along the upper rim, with the date 2004 divided on either side of the arms and the denomination 10 DOLLARS inscribed along the lower rim.
