| 正面描述 | The obverse depicts the official Seal of the Republic of the Marshall Islands rendered in high relief at center, featuring a frigatebird displayed with outstretched wings over a traditional Marshallese stick chart, flanked by two crossed traditional tools and framed by a radiating sun above and a sailing canoe to the right. A chain-link border encircles the inner field. The curved legend 'REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS' appears along the upper periphery, while the Marshallese national motto 'JEPILPILIN KE EJUKAAN' is inscribed along the lower periphery. The denomination '$10' and date '1992' are integrated into the surrounding legend, with the word 'SEAL' inscribed on a ribbon below the central device. |

Corregidor, the fortified island at the mouth of Manila Bay, fell to Japanese forces on May 6, 1942, after a siege that began with the broader Philippine campaign in December 1941. The garrison held longer than anyone reasonably expected, buying time at enormous human cost — roughly 11,000 American and Filipino troops surrendered that day, many of whom would die on the subsequent Bataan Death March or in Japanese prison camps.
The Marshall Islands issued numerous brass commemoratives in the early 1990s under licensing arrangements that had little to do with the events being honored.
