| 表面の説明 | The national coat of arms of Liberia is centrally depicted, featuring a sailing ship at sea, a palm tree, and a rising sun within a shield, supported by doves on either side and a scroll below bearing the legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA. A ribbon above the shield carries the national motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE. The date 2004 flanks the coat of arms in the field, with the country name REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arching along the upper periphery and the denomination 10 DOLLARS inscribed along the lower border. The design is enclosed by a toothed inner border and a reeded edge. |

Liberia's "events of history" commemorative series, produced in the early 2000s, was struck almost entirely for the international collector market rather than domestic circulation — Liberia had abandoned its own coinage infrastructure long before these were issued. Pinochet's 1990 handover of power to Patricio Aylwin followed the 1988 plebiscite in which Chilean voters rejected an extension of military rule by a margin of 56% to 44%.
The regime's end came not through coup or collapse but through a constitutional mechanism Pinochet himself had written into the 1980 charter, apparently confident he would win.
