| Obverse description | The national seal of the Republic of the Marshall Islands occupies the central field, depicting a traditional Marshallese stick chart (rebbelib) flanked by two crossed traditional implements, with a radiant sun above and a traditional sailing canoe (wa) to the lower right, set against an ocean horizon with palm trees to the left. A decorative chain border encircles the entire design. The upper legend reads REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS, with the denomination $10 at the left and the date 1995 at the right, while the national motto JEPILPILIN KE EJUKAAN arcs along the lower border. The Su-27UB is the two-seat combat trainer variant of the Flanker, developed in the early 1980s to bring pilots up to the demanding handling characteristics of the single-seat Su-27. The Marshall Islands issued a sprawling series of brass $10 pieces throughout the 1990s commemorating military aircraft, warships, and space hardware — collectibles aimed squarely at the thematic coin market rather than circulation. KM#271 is one of dozens in that run.
