Fiji's stag beetle dollar series was part of a broader wave of Pacific-nation numismatic issues produced primarily for the collector market, where Fiji's monetary authority licensed its name to mint programs with no meaningful domestic circulation. The coins were struck by a third-party mint — almost certainly the Numismatic Guaranty-adjacent operations supplying the Pacific collector trade during this period — and never entered Fijian commerce in any practical sense.
KM# 241 is a relatively late entry in this genre, by which point the market for large-format silver wildlife issues had become intensely crowded.
