Obverse description The Jamaican coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield charged with five pineapples, supported on the left by a female Taino figure bearing a basket of fruit and on the right by a male Taino figure holding a spear, both in traditional dress. A crocodile passant surmounts the helm and mantling as the crest. A flowing ribbon below the shield bears the national motto in the legend OUT OF MANY ONE PEOPLE. The country name JAMAICA arcs along the upper border, while the denomination TEN DOLLARS and the date 1974 are inscribed along the lower field, with the Franklin Mint mark visible below the shield.
