| 裏面の説明 | The reverse features a rectangular color-printed photographic insert occupying the left portion of the field, depicting two political figures — representing the signatories of the 1972 Simla Agreement between India and Pakistan — alongside the national flags of India and Pakistan. The inscription Simla Pact - India and Pakistan - 1972 appears within the color insert. To the right, a finely engraved allegorical figure of Victory or Liberty, rendered as a winged female figure with one arm raised, occupies the remaining field in high relief. The legend MOMENTS OF FREEDOM is inscribed across the lower exergue in two lines. |

The Simla Agreement of July 1972 was signed by Indira Gandhi and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in the aftermath of the Bangladesh Liberation War, during which Pakistan had surrendered over 90,000 troops — the largest military capitulation since World War II. The accord committed both nations to resolving disputes bilaterally, a clause Pakistan would later cite to resist international mediation over Kashmir.
Liberia's commemorative program of the 2000s issued dozens of these copper-nickel pieces under licensing arrangements targeting thematic collectors rather than domestic circulation. This coin never saw a Liberian pocket.
