Reverse description A finely detailed relief depiction of the British Aerospace Sea Harrier FRS.Mk1 carrier-borne fighter aircraft is shown in dynamic three-quarter view, banking across the central field with ordnance visible under the wings. A second aircraft is depicted in the background upper field, suggesting a formation flight. The legend SEA HARRIER FRS.MK1 arcs along the upper border in large raised lettering. Additional information

The Marshall Islands ran an aggressive commemorative program through the 1990s, contracting Pacific Coin Exchange to produce brass dollar-denominated pieces aimed squarely at the thematic collector market rather than circulation. The Sea Harrier FRS.Mk1 is remembered for its role in the 1982 Falklands conflict, where RAF and Fleet Air Arm pilots flew 1,435 combat sorties without losing a single aircraft to enemy aircraft — a record attributable in part to the AIM-9L Sidewinder missile, which Argentina's air force had no equivalent to counter.
