The Marshall Islands ran an aggressive commemorative program through the 1990s, contracting Pacific Coin Exchange to produce brass dollar-denominated pieces aimed squarely at the thematic collector market rather than circulation. The Sea Harrier FRS.Mk1 is remembered for its role in the 1982 Falklands conflict, where RAF and Fleet Air Arm pilots flew 1,435 combat sorties without losing a single aircraft to enemy aircraft — a record attributable in part to the AIM-9L Sidewinder missile, which Argentina's air force had no equivalent to counter.
