| Beschrijving keerzijde | A front-facing portrait bust of Roberto Clemente, the legendary Puerto Rican baseball player, dominates the central field, depicted wearing a baseball cap and uniform. His portrait is rendered in high relief against a plain, polished field. The legend 'ROBERTO CLEMENTE' arcs prominently along the upper rim, while 'HALL OF FAME' appears to the lower left and 'INDUCTION 1973' to the lower right, flanking the portrait. The Pobjoy Mint mark (PM) is present in the lower left field. A beaded border surrounds the design. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Liberia's commemorative silver program in the 1990s was largely a foreign-export operation — these coins were never intended for Liberian circulation and were marketed almost entirely to American collectors. Clemente, who died on New Year's Eve 1972 when a relief cargo plane bound for earthquake-stricken Nicaragua crashed shortly after takeoff from San Juan, was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame the following year under a special waiver of the standard five-year waiting period.
The KM#282 attribution places this among a sprawling series of Liberian sports tributes from the same period, most struck by foreign mints under contract.
