| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Liberia is prominently displayed in the centre of the field, depicting a three-masted sailing ship at sea, a palm tree, a rising sun, and a cannon on a promontory, all within a shield surmounted by a scroll bearing the national motto. The date 2005 is divided to the left and right of the shield. An outer legend reads REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA along the upper periphery, with the motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE inscribed on a ribbon across the upper portion of the shield.
