| Obverse description | A detailed polar azimuthal projection map of the Arctic region occupies the entire field, rendered with concentric latitude rings and radiating longitude lines, centered on the central perforation which represents the geographic North Pole. Cartographic inscriptions within the map field indicate 'MAGNETIC POLE', 'TRUE POLE', and 'ARCTIC POLAR CIRCLE', with temperature references '10°C' and '50°F' noted at intervals. The trimetallic construction is clearly expressed through contrasting silver-toned outer ring, gold-toned intermediate ring, and silver-toned inner ring.
