The Plateau Eagle is part of Barbados's ongoing large-format bullion and collector series administered through the Central Bank, which has increasingly used oversized silver formats to compete in the numismatic souvenir market dominated by Perth Mint and Royal Canadian Mint issues. At 311 grams and 120 millimeters, this sits at the upper boundary of what standard coin presses can produce without specialized tooling — a practical ceiling that several smaller issuing authorities have bumped against in recent years.
