The "Meteor" designation in this series refers to the F.MK8 commemorative theme tied to space and astronomical events, a subject the RMI leaned on repeatedly during this decade alongside WWII Pacific theater themes.

Brass composition was chosen specifically to reduce production costs while maintaining a visually acceptable finish for packaging sales.
