Obverse description The national coat of arms of Belize occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing crossed tools and a sailing ship, flanked by two bare-chested woodcutter supporters, each holding an axe, with a mahogany tree rising above the shield. The entire armorial composition is encircled by a wreath of olive branches. The legend BELIZE arcs along the upper periphery, the date 1984 appears in the lower field, and the motto SUB UMBRA FLOREO is inscribed on a scroll at the base of the arms. A fine beaded border frames the design at the rim.
