La Diablesse is one of the most persistent figures in Eastern Caribbean folklore — a seductive woman concealing a cloven hoof, said to lure men to their deaths along dark roads. The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank's decision to anchor a bullion program in regional mythology rather than generic wildlife or heraldry reflects a deliberate shift toward culturally distinct issues that began gaining traction among Commonwealth Caribbean mints in the early 2020s.
