Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse depicts a three-quarter bust portrait of La Diablesse, the enigmatic female spirit of Eastern Caribbean folklore, facing slightly to the right. She wears a broad-brimmed hat and is surrounded by an elaborate arrangement of tropical flowers and roses in high relief, creating a lush, decorative field that fills the coin's surface. The legend GRENADA arcs prominently along the upper border, and the date 2023 appears in the lower exergual area. The composition blends realism in the portrait with stylized, ornamental botanical elements, evoking both the beauty and mystery of the folkloric figure.

Aanvullende informatie

La Diablesse is one of the most persistent figures in Trinidad and Tobago folklore — a supernaturally beautiful woman concealing a cloven hoof, said to lure men to their deaths on lonely roads at night. The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank has drawn on this and other regional mythological traditions for a series of bullion issues aimed squarely at the collector and investor market rather than circulation. The .9999 fine gold specification places it in direct competition with sovereign bullion programs from Perth, the Royal Mint, and the Royal Canadian Mint.
