Samoa's numismatic output in the 2010s leaned heavily on licensed celebrity and historical portraiture issues aimed squarely at the collector market rather than circulation. This JFK piece is part of that wave — a commemorative with no monetary policy significance behind it, produced for a market that was buying Kennedy imagery in bulk across dozens of mints worldwide in the years surrounding the 50th anniversary of the 1963 assassination.
KM#229 sees very little secondary market movement independent of other Kennedy commemoratives from the same period.
