Obverse description The obverse displays the national coat of arms of Liberia at center, featuring a sailing ship at sea, a palm tree, and a rising sun, all within a shield supported by decorative elements. A scroll above the shield bears the national motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE. The legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs along the upper periphery, with a second inscription REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA appearing on a ribbon below the shield. The date 2004 is positioned in the field to either side of the coat of arms, and the denomination 10 DOLLARS is inscribed along the lower rim. The design is executed in a prooflike finish with a reeded border.
