Additional information

Liberia's Central Bank produced a sprawling series of commemorative copper-nickel dollars in the late 1990s and early 2000s, licensing portraits of foreign dignitaries, celebrities, and historical figures with little connection to Liberia itself. These were never intended for circulation — they were manufactured specifically for the international collector market, sold through mail-order and television shopping channels. KM# 714 is one of hundreds of such issues from this period.
