Reverse description A full-length figure of a traditional San Bushman archer stands at centre, depicted in profile facing right with bow fully drawn and arrow at the ready, a quiver of arrows visible at his back. The denomination 10 DOLLARS is inscribed in large characters to the left and lower right of the figure, following a curved arc. The words PROBE and ESSAI appear in small letters on the left and right fields respectively, identifying this piece as a trial strike, and a mint mark S is visible at the bottom of the field below the figure's feet. A beaded inner border encircles the entire design.
