Casino chips and tokens are well documented, but casino paper scrip occupies a murkier corner of notaphily. Atlantic City Hilton issued these dollar-denominated notes for use within the casino floor — functionally restricted to gaming or on-property redemption, never legal tender. The legal framework governing such scrip in New Jersey was distinct from Nevada practice, shaped by the Casino Control Act of 1977 and the strict oversight of the Casino Control Commission.
Survival rates for casino scrip tend to be low. Most was redeemed quickly or voided in bulk at shift changes.
