Obverse description The national coat of arms of Belize occupies the central field, depicting two mestizo woodcutters as supporters — one bearing an axe, the other a paddle — flanking a shield charged with crossed tools and a sailing ship, surmounted by a mahogany tree. A flowing ribbon scroll beneath the shield bears the national motto in Latin. The legend BELIZE arcs across the upper field, the date appears at the bottom, and the entire design is framed by an encircling wreath of laurel branches and a beaded border.

Reverse description A finely detailed Great Curassow (Crax rubra) is depicted in left-facing profile, perched upon a naturalistic bare branch set against a background of stylised tropical foliage. The bird's distinctive curled crest, scaled plumage, and long tail are rendered with careful engraving. The denomination legend TEN DOLLARS curves along the upper periphery in raised letters, and the design is enclosed by a beaded inner border consistent with the obverse.
