| Obverse description | The arms of Singapore occupy the central field, depicting a shield charged with a crescent moon and five five-pointed stars arranged in a circle, supported on the dexter by a lion rampant and on the sinister by a tiger rampant, both rendered in high relief. A scroll beneath the supporters bears the national motto MAJULAH SINGAPURA in Latin lettering. The country name SINGAPURA arcs along the upper periphery in Latin characters, flanked by the Tamil inscription சிங்கப்பூர் to the left and the Chinese characters 新加坡 to the right. The date 1996 and the English legend SINGAPORE appear in the lower field beneath the coat of arms. |

| Reverse description | A bold, stylised lion's head in left profile dominates the central field, rendered in a modern graphic style with deeply engraved parallel lines delineating the flowing mane and open, snarling mouth with exposed teeth. In the lower left field, a small rectangular cartouche depicts a rat, referencing the Chinese lunar Year of the Rat for which this issue was struck. The denomination $10 appears in large numerals to the lower right of the cartouche. Along the right periphery, the legend 1/4 OZ 999.9 GOLD is inscribed in a curved arrangement, indicating the coin's weight and fineness. |
