Aanvullende informatie

Liberia's early 2000s commemorative program was notably prolific — and notably commercial. These issues were produced almost exclusively for the collector market by private minting operations contracting under Liberian authority, a common arrangement among smaller nations seeking seigniorage revenue without the infrastructure to support it. The 2001 date in the title is nominal; actual striking occurred years later.

No evidence of genuine circulation. Issued into the hobby market, almost certainly through the same distribution channels as dozens of similar Liberian-licensed commemoratives from this period.
