| 背面描述 | The reverse, also square in format, features a finely sculpted high-relief bust of George Washington facing three-quarters left, rendered in the classical portrait tradition with powdered wig and ruffled jabot. Above the portrait, the legend GEORGE WASHINGTON appears within a scrolled ribbon cartouche flanked by acanthus ornaments. To Washington's right, a bald eagle clutches an American flag and military standards, while a field cannon is depicted in the lower right corner, evoking the Revolutionary War era. Decorative ribbon banners cascade along both sides of the composition, and the date 1776 is inscribed in a scrolled ribbon at the lower border. The field exhibits an antique finish, enhancing the deeply sculpted relief. |

Barbados switched from the Eastern Caribbean Dollar system to its own Barbadian Dollar in 1973, pegging it at two to one against the US dollar — a rate that has held without devaluation for over fifty years, one of the longest continuous pegs in the Caribbean. This piece is a bullion or commemorative issue capitalizing on that stable monetary identity rather than any circulating need; at 186.6 grams of fine silver, it was never intended for a cash drawer.
