| Obverse description | The full Coat of Arms of Jamaica occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield bearing five golden pineapples on a black and gold cross, surmounted by a Jamaican crocodile atop a royal helmet and mantling. The shield is supported on the dexter side by a female Taíno figure holding a basket of fruit and on the sinister side by a male Taíno warrior bearing a spear, both rendered in fine relief. A scroll below the shield bears the national motto in the legend OUT OF MANY ONE PEOPLE. The country name JAMAICA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination TEN DOLLARS and date 1977 arc along the lower periphery, all in raised Latin lettering. The Franklin Mint initials FM appear in the lower field. |
