| Obverse description | The obverse displays the national coat of arms of Nauru in the centre of the field, featuring a quartered shield with a frigate bird and a flowering plant in the lower quarters, surmounted by a twelve-pointed star above a woven pattern in the upper portion, flanked on either side by traditional feathered palm frond supporters. A scroll at the base of the arms bears the national motto GOD'S WILL FIRST, with the Nauruan name NAOERO inscribed on a banner above the star. The curved legend BANK OF NAURU arcs along the upper periphery, and the date 2003 is prominently displayed below the arms in the lower field. |
