Obverse description Central intaglio portrait of Alexander Hamilton set within an oval frame, flanked by green serial numbers at upper right and lower left against a finely engraved guilloche underprint. The Federal Reserve district seal appears to the left of the portrait and the Treasury seal to the right, both printed in contrasting ink. The obligation text, redeemability clause, and denomination inscription are rendered in letterpress along the upper and lower margins.

Reverse description Intaglio vignette of the United States Treasury Building in Washington D.C. occupies the centre of the note, enclosed within an elaborate guilloche border. The denomination numeral '10' is printed in each corner, with the legend inscribed along the upper and lower margins. The entire reverse is executed in green ink, consistent with the small-size series convention.
