Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by engraver Susanna Blunt, portraying the Queen in right-facing bust at approximately 77 years of age, bareheaded, wearing a necklace and drop earrings. The portrait is rendered in a refined, naturalistic style characteristic of Blunt's official Canadian coinage effigy. The legend encircles the upper field, while the Queen's title appears in abbreviated Latin form.

Aanvullende informatie

The Royal Canadian Mint's lunar series has always been aimed squarely at the overseas Chinese collector market, where demand for silver bullion pieces tied to the traditional zodiac calendar is substantial and reliable. The 2015 Year of the Sheep issue was struck in .9999 fine silver — four nines purity, which the RCM adopted aggressively in the 2010s as a competitive differentiator against the Perth Mint's dominant lunar program.

Mintage on these issues was capped rather than open-ended, a policy shift from earlier RCM collector silver that had been produced to demand.
