The "Welcome to the World" series from the Solomon Islands Central Bank is one of several dozen novelty bullion programs issued through the Pobjoy Mint and similar private minting partnerships, which have used Solomon Islands licensing since the 1980s to place commemorative coinage outside normal Commonwealth channels. At 2 grams of .9999 gold, the piece contains just under a tenth of a troy ounce — a format sized deliberately for the gift market rather than investment stacking.
