| Obverse description | Right-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II occupies the central field, superimposed over a cartographic globe grid motif with a stylised map of Antarctica in the background. The three islands of the Traversay group — Zavodovski, Visokoi, and Leskov — are labelled within the lower portion of the field. A circular legend reading 'FIRST RUSSIAN ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION 1819-1821' arcs around the upper periphery, while 'TRAVERSAY ISLANDS' appears in bold lettering along the lower border.
