Part of the RCM's ongoing "Canada's Wondrous Wonders" collector series, this issue belongs to a run of fine silver pieces released through the mid-2010s targeting the domestic and expatriate gift market rather than serious numismatic collectors. The series sold predominantly through RCM direct retail channels and Canada Post.
The .9999 fineness — four nines — was a deliberate marketing distinction from the RCM's earlier collector silver struck to .925, introduced to compete with bullion-adjacent collector products from Perth and other sovereign mints.
