The uneven topography of the field evokes the natural dunes of the Egyptian desert, imparting a strikingly three-dimensional and tactile quality to the design. Authentic sand collected from the site of the Great Pyramids by Taya Pobjoy, Manufacturing Director of the Pobjoy Mint, has been encapsulated within the coin.
