Pobjoy Mint struck this piece for the Cayman Islands shortly before the July 2013 birth of Prince George, timed to capitalize on anticipation surrounding the first child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Pobjoy, a private mint operating under contract to various dependent territories, has used the Cayman Islands franchise extensively for royal commemorative issues that the Royal Mint itself would never produce.
