Reverse description The reverse depicts a dramatic relief scene of the martyrdom of Saint Peter, shown crucified upside down on a cross in the foreground, his bound figure rendered with striking sculptural detail occupying the full height of the field. The face of the Apostle is visible at the foot of the cross, his wrists and ankles bound with rope. Behind the crucifixion scene, the architectural setting of an ancient Roman venue is suggested by monumental pylons or tomb structures arranged across the middle ground. The legend HROB SV. PETRA arcs along the upper left and PETROS ENI along the upper right, with the Czech Mint privy mark visible in the right middle field.
