| 背面描述 | Central depiction of the Silent Night Chapel (Stille-Nacht-Kapelle) in Oberndorf bei Salzburg, Austria, rendered as an applied gilt three-dimensional sculpture rising prominently from the coin's field. The domed octagonal chapel is flanked by snow-laden trees and period street lanterns incused in the silver field. A World Monuments logo appears to the left within the field. The curved legend AUSTRIA - SILENT NIGHT CHAPEL arcs along the upper rim, and the denomination 10 DOLLARS is inscribed in a cartouche at the base. |

The Silent Night Memorial Chapel in Oberndorf bei Salzburg marks the site of the original Nikolaikirche, demolished in 1913, where Franz Xaver Gruber composed and first performed "Stille Nacht" on Christmas Eve 1818. The carol was reportedly written in a single afternoon after the parish organ failed — though that story has been disputed by musicologists who note the organ may simply have been awaiting routine maintenance.
