Obverse description The obverse bears the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by engraver Susan Taylor, depicting the Queen in right-facing portrait at approximately 77 years of age, bareheaded, and adorned with a necklace and earrings. The legend ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA arcs above the effigy in Latin script, denoting her title by the grace of God. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a flat field, consistent with Royal Canadian Mint collector coinage of this period.

Additional information

The "Serene Scene" belongs to a Royal Canadian Mint series of fine silver collector issues that proliferated sharply after 2010, when the mint aggressively expanded its themed bullion and numismatic programs to capture the gift and collector markets. Individual releases in these series rarely exceed 10,000 pieces, and secondary market demand is driven almost entirely by the series theme rather than the coin itself.
