Additional information

Part of a broader Pacific island micro-gold series issued around 2010, these fractional pieces were produced primarily for the collector market and saw no meaningful circulation. Fiji's monetary authority has periodically licensed such issues to overseas minting operations, and the actual striking was almost certainly contracted out rather than handled domestically.

At 0.5g, the gold content is negligible as bullion — the premium is entirely numismatic from the moment of issue.
