| Additional information |
The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank issues commemorative gold on behalf of its eight member territories — Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Anguilla, and Montserrat — a monetary union that has maintained a fixed 2.7:1 peg to the US dollar without interruption since 1976. Antigua's Sailing Week, one of the largest regattas in the Western Hemisphere, has been held annually since 1967 and provides the event basis for this issue.
The KM#37.1 designation places this among a closely related family of ECCB bullion-plus-color releases targeted squarely at the collector market rather than circulation.
