| 背面描述 | The national coat of arms of Dominica is centrally displayed within a beaded inner circle, supported on either side by a Sisserou parrot (Imperial Amazon) as heraldic supporters. The quartered shield bears traditional Dominican emblems, surmounted by a lion passant crest. A scroll below the shield carries the national motto APRES BONDIE C'EST LA TER. The country name DOMINICA and denomination TEN DOLLARS appear below the arms, while the commemorative legend ROYAL VISIT 1985 arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by decorative stops. |

The 1985 royal visit commemorated by this issue was Queen Elizabeth II's tour of the Eastern Caribbean states, during which she attended the independence celebrations of several OECS member nations. The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, which had only unified the currency of its member territories in 1983, used commemorative coinage aggressively in these years as a minor revenue stream — collector demand from abroad consistently outpaced local circulation.
KM#20 was struck in copper-nickel rather than silver, keeping it accessible but limiting its appeal to the bullion market entirely.
