Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing a tiara with pearl and scroll ornaments, after the portrait by Arnold Machin. The circumferential legend arcs around the upper field, separated from the coin's milled border by a beaded inner rim. The effigy is rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and drapery, characteristic of the Machin portrait used on Commonwealth coinage from the late 1960s onward.
