Pobjoy Mint, based in Sutton, Surrey, has operated as a private mint producing commemorative and circulating coinage for smaller territories and island dependencies since 1965. Their relationship with various British Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies has made them the de facto issuer for dozens of small-denomination commemorative series that the Royal Mint declined to produce commercially.
