The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank issues commemorative gold almost exclusively through licensing arrangements with private minting houses, and this flamingo piece is no exception — it has no relationship to circulating Eastern Caribbean currency, which has not included a ten-dollar coin in standard production. The ECCB's bullion and collector programs have drawn criticism from numismatists for attaching Caribbean issuing authority to coins with no genuine regional monetary history behind them.
Pink flamingos are not native to the Eastern Caribbean member states.
