Additional information

The British Virgin Islands has no flamingo population — pink flamingos are native to the Caribbean's saltwater lagoons further south and east, with the nearest significant colonies in the Bahamas and Bonaire. This coin belongs to the wave of Commonwealth-issued wildlife silver rounds that proliferated through the 2010s, produced largely for the collector and bullion-adjacent market rather than any domestic circulation purpose. The BVI's own monetary authority has limited independent coinage history; most issues of this type were arranged through the Pobjoy Mint in Surrey.
