| Obverse description | The obverse bears the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by engraver Susanna Blunt, depicting the monarch at approximately 77 years of age in right-facing portrait, bare-headed, adorned with a necklace and drop earrings. The legend ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA arcs along the upper periphery, with the denomination 10 DOLLARS inscribed in the lower field. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a flat field, consistent with the Royal Canadian Mint's standard commemorative obverse design introduced in 2003. |
