Obverse description The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, sculpted by Susan Taylor, depicting the monarch in right-facing profile at approximately 77 years of age. The Queen is portrayed bareheaded, adorned with a necklace and drop earrings, in a refined and naturalistic style characteristic of the late Machin-era portrait tradition. The circumferential legend reads ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA, invoking Her Majesty's title by the grace of God. The effigy is set against a plain field, with the legend arcing along the upper periphery.
